Coordinator Shipping/Receiving

Position Overview

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will manage the Shipping /Receiving Department and Cone Reclamation.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in “P.R.I.D.E.” process top promote participation and improvements.

  • Support/Encourage employees to submit Process Improvements (PI’s) for ideas on process, safety or morale improvements.

  • Communicate changes or improvements to procedures and equipment to Supervisors and employees.

  • Review/file paperwork involving quality and traceability for quality records as specified in Shipping / Receiving Work/Process Instruction Manual

  • Update/Control quality documents for Yarn Receiving as outlined in SMS Work/Process Instruction Manual

  • Operate the Shipping / Receiving department within the Plant 81’s Management system as specified in: Plant 81’s SMS Manual & Shipping /Receiving Work/Process Instruction Manual

  • Conduct weekly safety meetings. Meetings will be conducted by the Crew Leader, Supervisor or the Department Manager

  • Responsible for directing work crews

  • Responsible for Shipping / Receiving personnel

  • Responsible for expediting aged inventory

  • Understand and communicate policy and operating procedures to Shipping / Receiving department personnel

  • Ensure that new employees are aware of: department manual and job procedures for their particular job

  • Understand and enforce Shaw Policy as directed by Policy Manual

  • Communicate work orders with the next shift Relief Crew Leader/Utility

  • This job has the responsibility and authority to report to management any quality and safety problems, and potential problems, that are encountered while performing the job

  • Responsible for quality and safety of Shaw associates within department

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or Experience

  • Familiarity with D.O.T. rules and regulations pertaining to shipping material on highways

  • Preferred: supervisory experience

  • Must be able to work with computers and reports

  • Manual dexterity and problem solving ability

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
